HISTORICAL
DATA: The French scientist Rene Gattefosse' was the first to discover lavender's ability to promote tissue regeneration
and speed wound healing when he severely burned his arm in a laboratory accident. Today lavender is one of the few essential
oils listed in the British Pharmacopoeia.
USES:
respiratory infections, high blood pressure, arteriosclerosis, menstrual problems/PMS, skin conditions, stretch marks, psoriasis,
burns, hair loss, insomnia, nervous tension

Lavender is the most "universal" oil. (When in doubt, use lavender.) It's antiseptic, analgesic, sedative, anti-inflammatory.
It is very soothing and balancing.

LAVENDER COOKIES (from Oct/Nov 1995 ‘Herb Companion)
Cream together:
1 cup of butter and 1/2 cup of sugar.
Add 1/4 teaspoon of salt and 2 cups of flour.
Mix well then chill for one hour or until it is firm enough to handle.
Form into 1 inch balls and roll into lavender sugar.
Put onto an ungreased cookie sheet and press down.
Bake in a pre-heated oven for 12 to 15 minutes.
Lavender sugar- Mix together in a blender for 30 seconds:
1 cup lavender blossoms with 1 cup sugar
